It began last Thursday with martinis at the Algonguin and then dinner with a dear new friend at Un Deux Trois (one of our old faves -- see pics from earlier blog posts), continued with martinis at TA again and then that smashingly wonderful dinner down in Chelsea, kept on with a pair of Mighty Terp Women victories that has them dancin' in the Sweet Sixteen, and will keep on this evening at CityZen with some dear friends and throughout the weekend with, we hope, MTW victories that take them to the FF!

Moose has given me half of the years of her life, and I'll take the next half century, too. She has always waited for me when I've fallen behind, and she's made me laugh every single day that we've been together. Who could ask for more?

Much love to you both, Moose & Rox,
GooseAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23938076.post-29517080600985353912009-03-27T10:07:00.000-04:002009-03-27T10:07:00.000-04:00Thanks, qta and DEB. We actually cheated a little in putting the braids and bangs shot here -- It wasn't a part of the slide show last Saturday night, but it would have been if Goose had known where that photo was in the house. We like the cub reporter shot, too, but Moose felt some odd pang of reticence about posting it here. I know -- weird, right?

Love your gloss on the Rich passage. I lobbied to add emphasis to "--And in fact we can't live like that," but my typist thought it was better to make readers dig for it. Such a teacher.

The pleasure and the honor? Totally mutual.Roxie Smith Lindemannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06455529922082930949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23938076.post-66835700232967823752009-03-27T09:31:00.000-04:002009-03-27T09:31:00.000-04:00Seems to me that the wisest line appears just past...Seems to me that the wisest line appears just past midpoint in the excerpt you've quoted: "--And in fact we can't live like that" or I suppose, more properly and less epigrammatically, "--And in fact we can't live like that: we take on/ everything at once before we've even begun/ to read or mark time." Here's to wisdom that accrues and can finally be parsed just about the midpoint of the passage! Happy Birthday, Moose. It's a pleasure and an honor to know you, particularly at this very rich and full (and teetering) moment in time. The braids and bangs rock, though I'm still pulling for the shot of you hunched over the tape recorder, transcribing. Such cub reporter intensity! Did you know you were training to transcribe for Roxie?

Happy Birthday!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23938076.post-74022192803567010832009-03-27T08:14:00.000-04:002009-03-27T08:14:00.000-04:00Happy Birthday Moose!!!!!!!!Happy Birthday Moose!!!!!!!!qtahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01907222771263313661noreply@blogger.com
