I'll miss them, along with all your company, tomorrow! (Though, come to think of it, I may try and convince a local Americanist here to run out and pick up some olives in the morning....)

From Canada, with love --Candy Mannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23938076.post-44522582634924687562009-11-25T14:17:35.343-05:002009-11-25T14:17:35.343-05:00Goose here, who'll say something in this comme...Goose here, who'll say something in this comment that she wouldn't dare say last night when the aforementioned expletives were flying and we were a-cleanin' up the splattered soup: AT LEAST CREAMY CARROT AND SWEET POTATO soup matches one of the major color themes we've got going 'round here: coppery. Anyway, it tastes damned fine and will be a splendid way to start off the Thanksgiving meal!

And the cheesed olives? No martini has been properly served without them nor holiday properly celebrated. Mmm mmm mmm

Ah in the words of Nanci Griffith it does seem a "hard life wherever you go" these days, but here's to a marvelous Thanksgiving filled not only with these delectable treats but with lovely friends and family.

By the way, Moose's Janie and Hermie were DAMNED COOL -- very cool.
--GooseGoosenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23938076.post-11111989283222675652009-11-25T12:58:07.461-05:002009-11-25T12:58:07.461-05:00whoops! not OVER roasted but OVEN roasted vegs!whoops! not OVER roasted but OVEN roasted vegs!Katie Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15901518232103073849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23938076.post-75295489021057974922009-11-25T12:56:51.683-05:002009-11-25T12:56:51.683-05:00I am looking forward to the cheesy olives very muc...I am looking forward to the cheesy olives very much! And the amuse-bouche which sounds perfect in that form actually!

I too did a similar thing last year when I was trying to duplicate various dishes I sampled in Sweden. Was attempting especially a fabulous salmon gel type mousse and never did find a comparable recipe. But did strew salmon mousse of other various sorts all over the kitchen floor more than once in fact!

Kept undoing the blender incorrectly -- and everytime I carefully tried not to do it, I somehow duplicated the exact same mistake!

Enough to make one think one's brain has gone into the Twilight Zone!

But did get some nice experimenting and sampling going. I suspect that real cooks have many such accidents -- it is a requisite for actual real cooking! Esp. experimentation!

See you soon for more merriment and food! Am bringing my exciting over roasted heirloom veggies and colorful autumnal salad and some low carb low fat celery and carrots to accompany the luxurious cheesey olives!

Hugs.Katie Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15901518232103073849noreply@blogger.com
